California’s Flood Policy: How Safe is Safe?
Case study presentations about lessons learned from Katrina, the Dutch flood control experience and Missouri River flooding; a summary of a three-day conference attended by flood experts from around the world; and concerns held by California policy makers and stakeholders were the topics discussed at a special July 27, 2007, flood conference held in Sacramento.
The one-day event, California’s Flood Policy: How Safe is Safe?, was sponsored by the Water Education Foundation and co-sponsored by the California Department of Water Resources and the State Reclamation Board.
Following the event, the Foundation prepared a written summary of these presentations.
